Quiterian Analytics is compatible with most business intelligence systems on the market. Quiterian Analytics can read information from any normal structured data source on the market.

By using an own ETL tool (iLoader) that loads data from various sources (Oracle, MSSQL, txt, XLS, ODBC, OLEDB) at a minimum speed of 10Gb/hour (about 1 million records per minute).

The data are loaded in an analytical DB (Engine) that uses innovative Hybrid Technology in which data are saved for extremely quick analysis, up to tens of thousands of times faster than the calculations in traditional RDB.

In order to analyze at high speed and with all the flexibility of Quiterian Analytics, data is stored and updated periodically in an analytical DB (Engine) which, although it is proprietary using CBAT, is available via ODBC and programmable through APIs.

Depending on the table type one of these updating techniques will be used:

• Refresh loads.
• Incremental loads.
• Update loads.

What usually happens is that fact tables, the ones which reflect historical movements and which normally add records for each new fact, are updated by refresh or incremental uploads based on the number of records and time variation in the data. Master tables, due to the high speed of ETL, are usually fully loaded each time.

You do not have to make cubes or create dimensions and measures. Once the data is loaded is available for analysis, and although you will need to do some brief modeling:

• Desnormalization: to facilitate the work of analysts, the master tables are raised a level, simplifying the model and making it easier to work with literals instead of codes.
• Renaming fields: sometimes field names have to be made understandable to users as their original cryptic descriptions are only understood by the technicians. You can rename the fields either during the ETL process or afterwards.
• Links between tables: sometimes you have to compose a primary key by combining several fields. Quiterian Analytics tells you which fields may be key because all their values are different. By using the links tool you can define a single link for each table. The total number of relations will be = number of tables? 1. With a single link, each table will become part of the analytical model so that you can, for example, cross a field in a "grandfather" table with a field in a "grandchild" (two levels lower down) or "cousin" (lower down in another branch) table without anyone having defined a relationship between those tables.
• Transforming data as you go: It may be that before starting work you’d like to explore the data to find inconsistencies in the relational model or the different discrete values of each field to ensure that loading was performed correctly. As a result of this examination you may need to redo some transformation on the fly.
• You don’t need to do additions or crosses or cumulative data; Quiterian Analytics will calculate them on the fly when needed. They will not have to be calculated in advance.

Only the authorized people who have username and password to login to the system. The administrator defines the security matrix for the specific profile or person, the type of the password, expiry, etc.

To interact with the data it is essential to know the business and be able to interpret what is analyzed correctly. It is a tool that for all types of business users: analysts (epidemiologists, criminologists, marketing specialists, financiers, etc.), operational users, computer technicians and consultants, analysts and managers who want to explore and navigate on their own.

To receive a predefined report with which you can interact dynamically requires office computer user skills.

For easy of implementation and getting quick results it is rolled out by departments although the facilities are corporate and run by systems departments.

The hardware requirements are basic. Fortunately, Quiterian Analytics does not require powerful and expensive servers to deliver outstanding performance. Power comes from the Engine analytical DB.
